TEMA 1.5: SPEAKING. TIME EXPRESSIONS IN THE PAST.
Conversación 1:
Sarah: Last summer, I went on a road trip across the country.
Tom: That sounds like an amazing adventure! Where did you go?
Sarah: We started in New York City and traveled all the way to Los Angeles.
Tom: Did you visit any famous landmarks along the way?
Sarah: Yes, we stopped at the Grand Canyon and also saw the Las Vegas Strip.
Tom: How long did the trip take?
Sarah: It took us two weeks to complete the journey.
Tom: Wow, that's quite a long time on the road. Any memorable moments?
Sarah: Definitely! We met some interesting people and camped under the stars.
Tom: It sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Conversación 2:
Linda: During my childhood, I used to live in a small village.
John: What was it like growing up in a village?
Linda: It was peaceful and everyone knew each other. We played outside all day.
John: Did you have any favorite childhood games?
Linda: Yes, we used to play hide and seek in the fields.
John: That sounds like a lot of fun. What about school?
Linda: I attended a one-room schoolhouse, and my teacher was really nice.
John: Do you ever go back to visit your hometown?
Linda: Yes, I try to visit at least once a year to see my family.
John: Your childhood sounds idyllic.
Conversación 3:
Mike: Back in the 20th century, technology was so different.
Lisa: I can imagine. What was life like without smartphones and the internet?
Mike: We had landline phones, and we used to write letters instead of emails.
Lisa: That must have been a slower pace of life.
Mike: It was, but we also had more face-to-face interactions.
Lisa: Did you have any favorite hobbies during that time?
Mike: I used to collect vinyl records and play them on my turntable.
Lisa: Vinyl records are making a comeback now. They have a unique charm.
Mike: True, there's something nostalgic about them.
Lisa: It's fascinating to hear about life in the old days.
