ADJETIVOS SUPERLATIVOS |
Los superlativos se utilizan para describir el grado más alto de una cualidad. En inglés, los superlativos pueden formarse de diferentes maneras según el tipo de adjetivo que se esté usando. Vamos a ver cómo se forman los superlativos terminados en -est, los que no terminan en -est, y los irregulares.
Superlativos terminados en -est
Cuando los adjetivos tienen una sola sílaba o dos sílabas, se forma el superlativo añadiendo -est al final del adjetivo. En algunos casos, la última letra de la palabra se duplica.
Estructura:

Ejemplos:
1. This is the biggest bat.
Este es el bate más grande.
2. He is the fastest batter.
Él es el bateador más rápido.
3. This is the best glove.
Este es el guante mejor.
Superlativos que no terminan en -est
Algunos adjetivos de dos o más sílabas no terminan en -est para formar el superlativo. En este caso, se usa most o least antes del adjetivo.

1. He is the most skilled pitcher.
Él es el lanzador más hábil.
2. This is the least important field.
Este es el campo menos importante.
3. The most strategic play was to steal home plate.
La jugada más estratégica fue robarse la base de home.
Superlativos irregulares
Algunos adjetivos tienen formas irregulares para el superlativo y no siguen las reglas anteriores.

Ejemplos:
1. This is the worst catcher on the team.
Este es el peor receptor del equipo.
2. The best player is at first base.
El mejor jugador está en la primera base.
3. He made the best play of the game with his bat.
Él hizo la mejor jugada del juego con su bate.
He aquí algunos superlativos irregulares:
